Obie Trice! Real proper name, no gimmicks (*record scratch*)

[Refrain i: Eminem]

Ii trailer park girls become 'round the outside

'Round the outside, 'round the exterior

2 trailer park girls get 'circular the outside

'Round the exterior, 'round the exterior

[Refrain two: Eminem]

Guess who'south back, back again

Shady'due south back, tell a friend

Guess who's back, gauge who's back

Guess who's dorsum, judge who'due south back

Guess who'southward back, guess who's back

Guess who's dorsum

[Verse 1: Eminem]

I've created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to

See Marshall no more, they want Shady, I'm chopped liver

Well, if yous desire Shady, this is what I'll give ya

A piddling bit of weed mixed with some hard liquor

Some vodka that'll bound first my heart quicker

Than a shock when I become shocked at the hospital

Past the doctor when I'g not co-operating

When I'm rocking the table while he'southward operating (Hey!)

You waited this long, now cease debating

'Crusade I'm back, I'm on the rag and ovulating

I know that you got a task, Ms. Cheney

But your husband'south center problem'south complicating

Then the FCC won't let me be

Or permit me be me, then let me see

They endeavour to shut me downwardly on MTV

But it feels and so empty without me

So, come up on and dip, bum on your lips

Fuck that! Cum on your lips and some on your tits

And become ready, 'cause this shit'south nigh to get heavy

I just settled all my lawsuits—fuck you, Debbie!

[Chorus: Eminem]

Now this looks like a task for me

So everybody, just follow me

'Crusade we need a little controversy

'Cause it feels so empty without me

I said this looks like a job for me

So everybody, just follow me

'Crusade we demand a little controversy

'Cause information technology feels so empty without me

[Verse 2: Eminem]

Little hellions, kids feeling rebellious

Embarrassed their parents still mind to Elvis

They start feeling like prisoners helpless

'Til someone comes along on a mission and yells, "Bitch!"

A visionary, vision is scary

Could starting time a revolution, polluting the airwaves

A insubordinate, and so only permit me revel and enjoy

In the fact that I got everyone kissing my ass (*smack*)

And information technology's a disaster, such a catastrophe

For y'all to see so damn much of my ass—yous asked for me?

Well, I'grand back, na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na

Fix your bent antenna, tune information technology in, and and so I'yard gonna

Enter in, and up under your skin like a splinter

The middle of attention, back for the wintertime

I'm interesting, the best thing since wrestling

Infesting in your kid'southward ears and nesting

Testing, "Attention please"

Feel the tension soon equally someone mentions me

Here's my ten cents, my two cents is free

A nuisance, who sent? You sent for me?

[Chorus: Eminem]

Now this looks similar a job for me

And so everybody, just follow me

'Crusade we demand a little controversy

'Crusade it feels so empty without me

I said this looks similar a job for me

And then everybody, just follow me

'Cause we demand a niggling controversy

'Cause it feels and then empty without me

[Verse three: Eminem]

A tisk-it a chore-it, I'll go tit for tat with

Everyone who'south talking "this shit, that shit"

Chris Kirkpatrick, you can get your ass kicked

Worse than them little Limp Bizkit bastards

And Moby? You can become stomped by Obie

You 36-year-old baldheaded fag, blow me

Y'all don't know me, you're too old, permit get

It's over, nobody listens to techno

Now let's go, but give me the indicate

I'll be there with a whole listing full of new insults

I've been dope, suspenseful with a pencil

Ever since Prince turned himself into a symbol

But sometimes the shit but seems

Everybody only wants to discuss me

So this must mean I'one thousand icky

Simply it's just me, I'm just obscene

Though I'm not the first king of controversy

I am the worst affair since Elvis Presley

To practise black music so selfishly

And utilize it to get myself wealthy (Hey!)

There'southward a concept that works

Twenty million other white rappers emerge

But no matter how many fish in the body of water

It'd be so empty without me

[Chorus: Eminem]

At present this looks like a job for me

And so everybody, simply follow me

'Cause we need a little controversy

'Crusade it feels so empty without me

I said this looks similar a job for me

So everybody, just follow me

'Cause we need a little controversy

'Cause it feels so empty without me

[Outro: Eminem]

Hum dei dei la la, la la la la la

La la la la la, la la la la

Hum dei dei la la, la la la la la

La la la la la, la la la la

Kids!

  • Obie Trice! Existent name, no gimmicks (*record ...:

This is taken direct from the kickoff of Obie Trice song "Rap Name". It's a shout-out to the guy who was Eminem'southward protégé at the time. Information technology's besides a promotion – Obie'southward album was coming out before long and he was the next artist to be released on Shady.

When Obie Trice performed once for D12 he introduced himself equally 'Obie ane', roughly based off Star Wars character 'Obi-Wan'. Proof then replied 'naa, real name, no gimmicks.' From and then on, he went past Obie Trice.

It is good to note that the song earlier "Without Me" on The Eminem Prove Drips, features Obie Trice on it.

  • Two trailer park girls go 'circular the outside ...:

A reference to the song "Buffalo Gals" by Malcolm McLaren, who was an early trailblazer for Caucasians in the hip-hop world, similar Eminem is now. The original lyric is "two Buffalo gals go round the outside", which Em alters to reverberate his white trash upbringing.

  • Guess who's dorsum, back over again:

This song is the showtime unmarried from the album The Eminem Testify, released in 2002. Em'southward previous anthology, The Marshall Mathers LP, was released in 2000, and The Slim Shady LP came in 1999. And equally soon every bit we hear the Dr. Dre beats, nasally voice, and intricate lyrics, we know Slim Shady is back.

  • tell a friend:

Eminem is presumably consciously making a goofy, fun trivial rhyme with this line (he didn't write it to be the image of lyrical ability, although he is an fantabulous lyricist), and he is perhaps making fun of advertisements that excitedly encourage you to "tell a friend!" about the product or service being advertised.

  • Estimate who'south back, guess who's back:

This vocal is the first unmarried from the album The Eminem Bear witness, released in 2002. Em'southward previous album, The Marshall Mathers LP, was released in 2000, and The Slim Shady LP came in 1999. And equally soon as we hear the Dr. Dre beats, nasally vocalism, and intricate lyrics, we know Slim Shady is back.

  • I've created a monster, 'cause nobody wants ...:

Using the famous "I've created a monster" line taken from Frankenstein, Eminem explains how on his outset major label album he created the evil modify-ego "Slim Shady", which he now feels fans prefer over his bodily personality, something he did not intend (his real name is Marshall).

This makes Em feel as though people value him solely as an entertainer, rather than as a man ("chopped liver" is slang for "useless").

  • Well, if you desire Shady, this is what I'll ...:

Em reveals that his change ego is really just his personality when he'southward drunkard and high (curiously, likewise the reason most Rap Genius editors write under a pseudonym)

Since he has struggled with drug bug throughout his life, we have unremarkably seen more of the "Shady" side of Marshall's personality in his music

  • Some vodka that'll jump kickoff my heart ...:

Vodka can get his centre pumping fast, much like a thousand volts of electricity from a defibrillator. Another famous Eminem extended metaphor, he doesn't merely say vodka gets his heart pumping similar a defib, he describes a full scene that gives the imagery of doctors trying to shock him back to life, simply he is still fighting them off considering he doesn't care about his health.

  • When I'm rocking the table while he's ...:

This shows a total disregard for his ain prophylactic, which is pretty standard behavior for Slim Shady. This is but ane of several songs where he's fabricated medical/doc references, one notable existence "I Need a Dr.".

  • Now this looks like a job for me:

Em is casting himself every bit a superhero. He does this blatantly in the music video for "Without Me" when he dresses upwards equally, of all people, Robin (Batman's sidekick). Just in this case he is channeling his inner Superman, since that is Clark Kent'south catchphrase when switching into the Human being of Steel. Without controversy, everything seems to be really wearisome in his eyes. And so he uses himself as target of the FCC and sensors to create some "controversy". Considering life "feels so empty, without [him]".

  • 'Crusade nosotros demand a little controversy:

    Con-tro-ver-sy; [kon-truh-vur-meet]; substantive-plural; 1. a public dispute, debate, or contention concerning a thing of stance. 2. Eminem.

  • 'Cause it feels so empty without me:

Afterwards releasing The Slim Shady LP in 1999 and The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000 – both received by some with serious controversy over lyrical content – Eminem waited a total 2 years to release Without Me as the pb single in 2002. During those 2 yr there were actually no musical controversies worth mentioning, and it is this Slim Shady is referring to, with a sly grin no incertitude.

  • Little hellions, kids feeling rebellious:

The way that the media describes Eminem'south fans. In the music video, the main plot is Eminem and Dre dressing upwards every bit Batman and Robin and trying to stop a "rebellious" little kid from buying The Eminem Evidence, parodying how critics view preventing kids from hearing his music as a "heroic" act.

  • Embarrassed their parents still listen to Elvis:

Although Elvis was controversial to many of the parents in the 50's and 60'south, that controversy somewhen died out. Now rock and curlicue is viewed every bit "erstwhile people music" instead of the music for rebellious youth. Hip-hop inherited a lot of that rebelliousness, so Eminem is pointing out the cyclical nature of controversy.

Besides, Eminem is aware that a lot of people compare him to Elvis, and information technology's an accurate comparison in some aspects. They both accomplished superstardom in a predominately black genre, and were both accused of sending bad messages to the youth. Eminem often refers to himself equally the new Elvis, and dresses up like him in his music videos.

  • They start feeling similar prisoners helpless ...:

Kids feel like they are beingness trapped by their parents and their former school customs, so something new and vulgar like Eminem gives them motivation to rebel.

  • A visionary, vision is scary:

Eminem depicts himself as a visionary; he is very intelligent and has a plan for the future. The problem is, the vision that he has is going to upset a lot of parents, and then the idea that someone like Eminem is going to control the futurity scares them.

  • Could commencement a revolution, polluting the airwaves:

Eminem knows that his critics view his music as dangerous, then much and so that they think putting it on the radio is "polluting" the minds of its listeners. It isn't surprising that the airwaves never actually gave Slim Shady much airtime, simply that has changed in the 2010'due south.

  • In the fact that I got anybody kissing my donkey ...:

Irony. Everyone kisses information technology, but no one wants to await at it. He'south saying that everyone gives him attending by being offended past him and complaining, which is ironic as well.

  • A tisk-it a task-it:

"A-tisket, A-tasket" is a plant nursery rhyme, which was too the basis of a song by Ella Fitzgerald.

  • Chris Kirkpatrick, y'all tin can become your ass kicked:

Em is dissing Kirkpatrick from 'North Sync because he was the but fellow member of the band to retaliate when Em made fun of them in his earlier years. Simply you can't really retaliate when y'all await similar this:

  • Worse than them little Limp Bizkit bastards:

This line added fuel to the fire in the Eminem and Limp Bizkit feud. They used to be friends, until DJ Lethal told TRL that "Everlast would definitely win" in a fight betwixt Eminem and Everlast.

  • And Moby? You can get stomped by Obie You ...:

Merely popular stars are worthy of direct assault, so Em symbolically sends a minion, rapper Obie Trice, to shell upwardly the electronic music artist Moby.

  • Y'all don't know me, you lot're also sometime, let ...:

He doesn't expect old people to empathize or experience his music and he doesn't really want them to.

This is directed at Moby in the poetry but can besides exist seen as against the rest of American adults that are against him.

  • nobody listens to techno:

This line got remixed into a ton of techno songs. It's actually a farther insult because Moby fans will get to great pains to tell you he'due south not a techno creative person.

  • It's over:

Dissing Moby by proverb his career is over

  • You waited this long, now stop debating:

There was a 2 year wait between Em'south last album, The Marshall Mathers LP and his one, The Eminem Show. The MMLP was huge, but some critics doubted that he would always exist able to pull anything off shut to that quotient again. They figured the 2 year wait meant he was out of ideas. But now that he's back all over the airwaves and running the rap game again, it's time to stop debating if Eminem roughshod off.

  • I know that you got a task, Ms. Cheney But your ...:

Lynne Cheney, as the wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, was the 2d Lady of the United States. In this part, she spoke out against violent and sexually explicit lyrics in popular music, most notably those of Eminem.

  • So the FCC won't let me be Or let me be me, ...:

The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) regulates interstate and international communications, including radio. The FCC won't allow him play his songs; they edit and censor them.

  • They try to shut me down on MTV Just it feels and then ...:

The backlash confronting Em's lyrics included many attempts to conscience his music, including MTV (this was when MTV played music videos).

But, without Em, even the critics feel the empty space he used to fill. They hate to like him, simply fifty-fifty Em's harshest critics know he means a lot to the rap game, so they tin't just completely shut him downward.

  • Then, come on and dip, bum on your lips:

Since he'due south discussing censorship, Em references his own argument about Tom Greenish doing nastier things than he does on television set

  • Fuck that! Cum on your lips and some on your tits:

Fuck the FCC shit, at present Em's about to say one of the greatest things. In the clean version of this song, the first line has been inverse with "jump back, jiggle her hip and wiggle a scrap".

  • And get ready, 'cause this shit'south about to ...:

Yet another insult directed at Debbie Mathers, Eminem's mom. He was sued by her for the corporeality of $10,000,000 because of defamation, which was settled before he recorded this song. Thus, he feels free to swear at her, considering she ended up only being awarded $one,600 or so in damages after legal fees.

  • Well, I'yard back, na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na:

Em sings forth to the "Batman" TV show theme song.

In the music video, Em dresses like Batman'south sidekick Robin, while Dr. Dre looks at him thinking "this is my fucking protege?"

  • Fix your bent antenna:

At the fourth dimension this vocal came out, radio technology was still improving so many radios still had long telescoping antennas as such below that were prone to angle which would cause the radio signal to become distorted

  • The center of attending:

Everyone (the media, fans, politicians, etc.) is perpetually watching everything Eminem does, especially because of his popularity and controversial lyrics.

  • back for the winter:

Back for the winter: Not merely is he back on your full general consciousness for the season, but Em'southward come back to treat the scene the same way you would a rose; to clip information technology, get rid of the dead wood, and go along it in the right shape. No one else just Slim could put his contemporaries through such torturous paces.

  • the best matter since wrestling:

This line refers to the negative attribute of wrestling towards children. Which ties into the side by side line. I hateful I could be wrong but I do not think a lot of traditional parents would want their kids watching it, my mom didn't. This song was also created just after the WWF's "Attitude Era" where they often cursed, displayed nudity, and much more adult material. Parents protested against them during this time probably as much as they have Eminem.

  • Infesting in your kid's ears and nesting:

Mocking the critical parents who say Em's lyrics are horrible and should not be for kids. Em compares his lyrics to an parasitic infection.

  • Here'southward my ten cents, my two cents is free:

The "ii cents" refers to Eminem's liberty of speech, so he expresses his opinions freely and frequently.

  • A nuisance, who sent? You sent for me?:

Em'southward commenting on how he'due south considered overplayed and annoying by those who don't capeesh his music, but the irony states itself in that it is the mainstream audience that causes him to be as played every bit often as he is.

  • Now let's go, just give me the signal:

The bat symbol – Eminem and Dr. Dre dress up every bit Batman and Robin in the music video for this song

  • I've been dope, suspenseful with a pencil ...:

He's been proficient at rap ("dope") and captivating people with the lyrics he writes ("suspenseful with a pencil") since 1993, when the musician Prince changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol

  • Just sometimes the shit just seems Everybody simply ...:

Fifty-fifty though Eminem has been writting incredible verses since 1993, everybody only seems to intendance more than nigh arguing that he's a bad influence.

Not the kickoff time that Em has brought up that subject, in fact, information technology may be one of the things he raps about the near. The subject of the song Who Knew is basically to mock people who believe that his music causes people to do crazy stuff. Likewise in Role Model, through sarcasm, he tells kids that he is not a skillful "role model" and they shouldn't practice the things he does.

  • So this must mean I'm disgusting:

Eminem rhymes icky by syllable, so that information technology sounds like discuss-ting. He figures that all this talk about him being disgusting but ways that people like to talk about ("hash out") him.

  • Though I'1000 not the first king of controversy:

Many before him have broken barriers in music; he'south not the kickoff to do and then

Emphasis on the give-and-take "king" – Elvis was known as "The King."

  • I am the worst thing since Elvis Presley To do ...:

Elvis Presley, similar many white musicians of his time, has been accused of incorporating (or stealing, depending on who yous ask) elements of black music and selling it to the masses.

It was as well fairly common so for white musicians to rework songs originally fabricated by black musicians and make much more coin from them than the original artist.

In fact, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller wrote Hound Dog and gave it to Large Mama Thorton. They felt Elvis could make more money off it…which he did. In that time singer/songwriters were almost non existent. Songwriters often passed songs on to other singers who they believed could make more money off it. "Hound Dog" was likewise recorded by 5 country singers in 1953 lonely, and over 26 times through 1964.
